Though now broken up, Nate Robinson and his girlfriend Sheena Felitz had been together since high school The pair has three kids; two older sons and their younger daughter born in the fall of 2009. Nate and Sheena named their first child Nahmier Calliou,… and yes they gave him the middle name Calliou after the title character in one of Nate’s favorite cartoons.

Sheena, at one point at least, lived in Washington with the kids. Now that the two have split, Washington is also where Nate hoped to have their custody court case heard – while Felitz pushed to have it in NYC. No word on what the outcome of the court case was but we’re guessing that Nate isn’t taking home all of the money that he earns.

Reality TV starlet and current hopeful on “The Bachelor,” Michelle Money, admitted in an interview with Life & Style Magazine that she had an affair with Carlos Boozer while he was still married. The Salt Lake City native began dating Carlos shortly after her own divorce. While she alleges that Carlos led her to believe that he was already separated, she doesn’t try to shy away from the blame, “Yes, I was in a relationship with Carlos while he was still married. What I did was wrong… I’m not trying to shy away from the fact that he was still married. I don’t put that on Carlos. I don’t put that on anyone but myself. I feel terrible for Cece for that pain she’s had to go through and that I am a part of it… “

Carlos and Cece (Blackwell) Boozer have divorced, though there are conflicting reports about when it occurred. The relationship between Boozer and Money ended 3 months after Boozer’s divorce was finalized.

UPDATE: 03/24/2014 Derrick Rose is both blessed and cursed that he can’t get things good on and off the court at the same time. Before the season, things were looking up, and he had a bright season ahead of him. Unfortunately, Derrick Rose’s girlfriend Mieka Reese let the world know they were no longer together.

A month later, DRose suffered another season ending injury, and things were down again. Fortunately, rumors are circulating that Rose and Reese weren’t entirely ready to call off a decade long romance and have rekindled their relationship. In fact, TerezOwens.com is reporting that Reese is pregnant with the couple’s second child after giving birth to their first child, PJ Rose in October 2012.

We’ll be in the camp of hoping these crazy kids can get it together and make it work this time.

After years of dating, Derrick Rose and girlfriend Mieka Reese are no longer together. After the couple had their first child, son PJ, in October, 2012, things dissolved. Resse took to Instagram to let the world know that they have officially split up:

It’s not entirely known how long Taj Gibson’s girlfriend Michelle Williams has been in the picture. According to a report from Media Take Out, the two were dating when they were photographed sitting courtside at a WNBA game in May, 2010, along with Taj’s daughter from a previous relationship. Reports say Michelle had an easy rapport with Taj’s daughter.

My first question was why the hell was Taj Gibson at a WNBA game. Fortunately the answer seems logical as Michelle Williams is a minority owner of the Chicago WNBA team (and we don’t know or care what the name of the team is). No further word if the two are still together, or honestly ever really were as of post time.

For those who don’t remember, Michelle Williams was the other hot one in Destiny’s Child. After the group broke up, Michelle went on to release several albums on her own, and act on Broadway.

I get the sense that hooking up with Miley Cyrus is much harder than it may appear to the casual pop enthusiast. Jimmy Butler’s girlfriend Charmaine Piula is a lovely young lady of Polynesian descent. She grew up in Utah and went to school at Snow Canyon High School in St. George, right on the border of Arizona and directly south of Red Cliffs Conservation Area. I imagine this was a pretty cool place to grow up, but that’s because I’ve only been through that area of the country once, and it seemed like an exotic land. The last time she updated her LinkedIn account, she had been working for Auto Owners Insurance as a marketing representative. I’m thinking that means she made phone solicitations? I never know what marketing titles mean, but “representative” generally implies salesperson. So according to that, she sells automobile insurance. That account said she worked in the Boise, Idaho area, and I’m pretty sure she moved to Chicago within the last year, so she hasn’t been updating her LinkedIn.

Based on a whole mess of Vine videos that she took, Jimmy Butler’s girlfriend Charmaine Piula likes to get out there and mix it up with friends. Her best friend Kelli has a memorable puffy and frizzy hairstyle, and they go running and shopping and partying together quite a bit. Or at least they used to when they were in Utah or vacationing in Los Angeles. As a matter of fact, Charmaine seems to have done quite a lot of traveling around America with her friend Kelli in the past year or so. They’ve gone to Las Vegas, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Cabo. Charmaine’s pretty charming in these videos. Aaron Brooks’ wife Shavonne Bland gave birth to their daughter Mikah back in 2007 right around the time he was trying to finish up college at Oregon and get drafted into the NBA. He didn’t really think he could make it to the NBA, but he got drafted 26th that year and went straight to the Rockets. Aaron and Shavonne actually came close to him quitting basketball and moving back to his hometown where Shavonne was pregnant, but he stuck it out. I guess it was a smart decision, because now they’re millionaires.

One of the more talked about charity events that Aaron Brooks’ wife Shavonne Bland attended was back in 2008 when Yao Ming was on the team. They went to this thing called the Houston Rockets Tux and Tennies Charity Gala. The idea was to pay money to sit with the NBA players (it cost $500 to get a picture with Yao Ming) and it all went to raising money for the Dikembe Mutombo Foundation. Both Aaron and Shavonne were in attendance and looking stylish. It’s a pretty funny sight seeing 7’6″ Yao Ming in a tuxedo sitting with a bunch of normal folks. Plus, he’s sort of funny looking in general. I’m sure the humor wasn’t lost on Aaron and Shavonne.

I’m hoping Mike Dunleavy’s wife Sarah Dunleavy is as close to his best friend’s wife as Dunleavy is to his best friend. Let me explain that somewhat confusing sentence: Mike Dunleavy is best friends with Shane Battier, as they were college teammates at Duke. They also play practical jokes on each other, and one such prank had Dunleavy leaving messages on Battier’s phone pretending to be their old coach and telling him to drop his Chinese shoe company and take less three pointers. It’s up for debate whether Shane actually believed it was Mike Krzyzewski.

Sarah herself treks with Mike to visit Shane and his wife every summer, and she was also a Duke student back in the early 2000’s. There’s an account online at Duke’s website of how she was crying hysterically when she was first driven to Duke. It’s told by her younger sister, and her brother chimes in and says, “When Sarah first came here, it was raining, cold, and she hated it. My dad had to force her to come back.” Weirdly, after she got over whatever was bothering her about Duke, pretty much all of Sarah’s sisters and brothers attended Duke after her. There’s apparently a bunch of them, and the only one that didn’t go was her oldest sister Alexandra. Mike Dunleavy’s wife Sarah Dunleavy sets the Duke attendance trends. Good thing she decided she’d actually go to the school after her dad made her.

Sarah’s oldest sister isn’t totally out of the picture, though. She really shines in her participation with various foundations. She was photographed by the New York Social Diary back in 2009 at a Breast Cancer Research Event in New York, attending with her older sister Alexandra. Sarah also attends charity and foundation events with Mike pretty regularly. Ever since their marriage in 2008, Mike Dunleavy’s wife Sarah Dunleavy has become a staple at such events.

Nikola Mirtoci’s wife Nina Mirotic is the daughter of his coach and mentor from Montenegro, Jadran Vujacic. This caused them some strain for a little while, apparently. There’s an account where Nikola told Jadran about their relationship when Nikola was around the age of 20, and their relationship was strained for about a month before everything got ironed out and back to normal.

Now Nikola Mirotic and wife have been married since 2012. They have a son named Aleksandar, and they had to adjust to moving from their home in Spain (while Nikola was playing for Real Madrid) to Chicago. They’d been in Spain around three or four years, and their son was only a month old when they had to decide whether or not to come to America. After some wrangling and dealing, the Bulls scraped together $5.3 million to pay Mirotic to move with his son and wife to Chicago. It must be a tough transition for Nina to first go from Serbia all the way to Spain and then move to the States, but since there was a 3 year buffer in between those moves it sort of gives her time to catch her breath. I’m wondering how her English is shaping up now that she’s growing accustomed to being here.

The couple have always enjoyed going to shows, musicals, and operas, from what I can see. They would attend shows in Spain, and they’re still doing it in Chicago. Nikola Mirotic’s wife Nina Mirotic was recently hanging with him at the opera where he posted a picture of them taking it all in. And of course they no longer have the chance to attend world-class soccer matches now that they’re here. As an aside, Nikola’s first love is the sport of soccer, and his family had to convince him to play basketball instead of soccer when they noticed him growing so tall.

Kirk Hinrich’s wife Jill Hinrich just gave birth to twins in September of 2014, so she’s very busy taking care of their stable of four children. Their kids are named Kolton, Kinley, Kenzie, and Kyla. I’m seeing a pattern here, Kirk. Maybe Jill will think about changing her name to Kelly.

Jill had a very athletic history before she became a professional mom. Kirk Hinrich’s wife Jill Hinrich was once simply Jill Fisher, and she was known as a state champion long jumper for Bishop Heelan high school in Sioux City, Iowa. The couple has been dating since 1997, according to the Sioux City Journal, and they’ve known each other since high school. So chalk another professional athlete’s relationship under the old high school sweethearts column. Being an NBA wife is tough, and that means Jill had to say goodbye to what was called her “dream house” when Kirk was traded from Chicago to Washington. The house was 9270 square feet and cost $4.4 million. Then the guy gets traded back a few years later, and they’re right back where they wanted to be.

Kirk and Jill also do a lot of nice charity work. Kirk’s got a charity golf tournament called Camp High Hopes, and the aim there is to help special needs kids. I think he should start a charity for his wife, who’s now got to take care of 4 little kids while he’s away shooting jump shots. I don’t imagine Jill longs to be back in Sioux City, but they do visit there often enough to see family and old friends. There’s speculation around the internet that Kirk will seek employment working for the Bulls organization when he retires, and that would suit Jill and the family nicely, as they’ve mostly put down roots in Chicago. I wonder if they reacquired their dream house. My guess is it was sold within the three years time that they were away.

05-12-2011: According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPNLosAngeles.com, who caught up with Pau Gasol after his exit interview, all of the rumors about Pau Gasol breaking up with his girlfriend Silvia Lopez-Castro are false. She spoke with Pau, who told her that he and his girlfriend “are fine, we’re happy, we’re doing well”. In addition, Pau Gasol said that he are fine as well, shooting down the rumors that Kobe Bryant’s wife, Vanessa Bryant, had anything to do with any troubles between Gasol and his fiance. Pau did however, seem to verify that he and Lopez Castro were having some slight troubles when he said that she “was suffering because she saw me suffering. And I was suffering because I was seeing her suffering”. As Fat Bastard once said, it’s a vicious cycle. You eat because you’re unhappy and you’re unhappy because you eat. Pau, we think there’s someone you should get in touch with and forgive: yourself.

05-06-2011: There are rumors flying around that Pau and his fiance are calling it quits and that Kobe Bryant’s wife had a part in it, at least according to Gasol. Andrew Bynum started the gossip mill churning with the infamous, “trust issues,” comment to reporters after their game 2 loss to the Mavericks. Following their sweep to Dallas, Gasol indicated off the court issues, stating “I have to learn from this. I have to learn that when something happens off the court, you have to keep it off the court.”
Earlier this week, Kobe brushed off reports of in-the-stands-wife-fighting with a terse statement; “They barely know each other.”
Hopefully if Pau is dealt to Orlando this summer, the real story will come out. Until then,… the rumors will have to suffice.

Pau Gasol’s girlfriend Sylvia Lopez Castro met while she was working as a Cheerleader at Poland’s Eurobasket tournament, where Pau’s team and homecountry Spain won the gold medal in 2009. The two now live together in Manhattan Beach. There are whispers that the two are engaged, though at this time, unconfirmed.

Sylvia works as a cheerleader for Dream Cheers, who are a traveling cheerleading squad. They frequently perform at halftime of various professional European basketball games, including at those of FC Barcelona, Pau’s former team.

Shay is an actress, and best known for her role in the show “Pretty Little Liars.” They were spotted by TMZ recently when they went to get lunch in Los Angeles back in May. If actually together, they must have been dating for a few months.  They even split up as soon as the camera guy showed up to avoid him figuring it out. Jimmy went one way and Shay went the other. It was a pretty funny attempt since they met back up moments later.

The woman rumored to be Jimmy Butler’s girlfriend is the jet-setting Hollywood type if you go by her pictures. Shay has a grand total of 14,000,000 followers. She had nothing to say to the paparazzi guy that spotted her and Jimmy.  I think since they’re both young, they haven’t figured out exactly how to handle the media. Shay sure knows how to put out a fresh social media account though. A lot of rich actors’ social media are essentially lifestyle blogs that show you what it’s like to be rich and famous. They capture the biggest and most exotic moments, and that’s exactly what Shay is going for.

In the span of just a few weeks, she travels to places most people will never go. One week, she’s in Italy doing the “wine glass cheers over the vista balcony” shot.  Another week and she is in Fiji looking out over an infinity pool. Derrick Rose’s girlfriend Alaina Anderson loves cupcakes. One of her habits is posting cupcake pictures- sometimes stacks of them. She just celebrated her twenty-second birthday. Miss Anderson is quite charismatic. Someone took videos of her birthday party and she was hamming it up. Alaina spends half her time in Chicago because Derrick plays there and she attended school there, but she also loves LA and New York. They already vacationed to Paradise Cove Beach in Texas. Maybe she finished school since she is twenty-two. I know she attended the University of Illinois in Chicago. Derrick probably met her in a club somewhere there.

In October, Alaina traveled to Malibu, California and enjoyed some ocean views. Before that, Alaina visited Puerto Rico to take in some rays. In August, Alaina visited Shanghai, China! Prior to the China trip, Alaina participated in something called the Spartan Race, Chicago. These races are five miles and include 20 obstacles to overtake. I watched a brief video of her scaling a wall with a rope. She’s not very athletic, but at least she finished the race. Derrick Rose’s girlfriend posted a an explanation of her race in spring. In conclusion, she’s half white and half black and identifies as bi-racial. She said she doesn’t favor one over the other.

If I had to guess, I would say Derrick Rose’s girlfriend met her in the latter part of 2015. I think they dated for a long time before she posted a picture with him. The reason I say this is because she posted pictures of roses that someone gave her and said “Chicago has nothing on LA, but this’ll do for now.” As a matter of fact, I’m fairly certain she spent most of the summer of 2016 in Los Angeles renting a place with friends. Alaina shared that she loves Oprah’s book “What I Know For Sure.” Her favorite passage is one about not spending time around people with dark energy who drain you. This seems like a universal sentiment of young social media stars because they filter their social life.

Bobby Portis’ girlfriend Kanesha Woods is a serious basketball fan. She follows all the action religiously and makes all her opinions known widely. I like it because that’s what I expect from true fans. Who better to become a true fan than a pro basketball player’s girlfriend? She appears to be a tough woman. Kanesha also liked Charlie Murphy and posted a memory of one of his jokes as a little memory for his passing. She prefers to post short comments about basketball and her day-to-day activities on social media. One of my recent favorites is her explaining that “he’s not really your boyfriend if he doesn’t come into the bathroom and annoy you while you’re trying to use it in peace.” Classic relationship tweets!

Kanesha is the type of social media user who likes to give good advice. She says never get upset about something you can’t control. That’s practical wisdom, for sure. Bobby Portis’ girlfriend says she loves kids and plans to give birth six years from 2017. That sounds like a long time to me, based on the average amount of time it takes players in relationships to have children. She likes to stress acceptance of others because she tweets about it often. Kanesha says we should all learn to appreciate each others’ differences better. I believe Kanesha comes from Little Rock, Arkansas originally. She says she believes people from Little Rock are the only ones who celebrate their birthday for a whole week.

Bobby Portis’ girlfriend Kanesha says nobody can make her do anything. She most certainly is strong-willed and opinionated. Robin Lopez’ girlfriend Christine Vargas comes from Ecuador originally. She lives in Chicago with him since he landed there for the 2016 season. Since Chicago is cold in January, Christine traveled to Florida to ride on some Disney rides. She posed in front of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. I remember that ride myself, and it’s great. I also think Robin and Christine might still own a house in Portland since she still spends a lot of time there. Christine lives in Chicago in either an apartment or hotel room a lot of the time, but she also posts pictures from Portland too.

Robin Lopez’ girlfriend Christine has a best friend, and his name is Muppet. Muppet is a Labradoodle, from what I can tell. He actually shows up in a huge number of her social media pictures and is always the comic element. They’re a great duo because Christine is the beautiful one and Muppet is the funny one. In June of 2016, Christine found herself without Muppet in Tokyo, Japan. A week before that, Christine went to Hawaii. She explored a few of the islands that make up Hawaii and enjoyed herself a lot! A few weeks before that, she found herself in none other than Hong Kong! Yes, Christine travels to the coolest places and yes I am jealous.

In June, Christine went to Shanghai and posed in front of the DisneyLand castle there. I believe this is sort of a hobby for her. She poses in front of lots of different Disney castles. About a month before her trip to Shanhai, she went to Mumbai and stayed in one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever seen! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen an athlete girlfriend or wife who travels as much as Christine. Robin Lopez’ girlfriend is a traveling fanatic! Let’s not forget her trip to Dubai and the United Arab Emirates in the same time frame.

Lauri Markkanen’s girlfriend Verna is an idealistic young woman from Finland. Since Lauri himself comes from Vantaa, Finland, it makes sense his girlfriend also hails from the same place. Verna maintains a very detailed blog that covers vegan food. If you are interested in vegan and vegetarian food, check it out. Verna talks about this subject in detail. She also writes consistently and keeps the blog chugging along. That’s very hard to do, as I’ve observed from many player wives and girlfriends who start this kind of project. There are few rewards in terms of readership, and the creator usually burns out after a few months. Will she keep it up?

Verna also identifies strongly with wasting nothing, practicing yoga, and animal rights. Lauri Markkanen’s girlfriend inhabits a kind of spiritualist stereotype in the most pure form. Most of her personal ideology revolves around nurturing and healing in all ways. She says in healing yourself you become a healer of others, you are healing the planet. Sounds great, Verna! Heal the world with vegan recipes! Verna also becomes very enthusiastic about statement goals such as not buying clothes for a year to save on waste. She committed to this in March of 2017 and called the fashion industry wasteful and bad for the environment. However, she will still buy second hand and fully sustainable clothes. It’s a sweet idea because it shows thoughtfulness and initiative.

Lauri Markkanen’s girlfriend writes at length about empowering herself on her blog. I think she uses the blog as a kind of cathartic journal for self-reflection and introspection. She certainly concentrates a lot of thought and time in herself and her own personal development as a person. Does it help? I don’t know. Will she be able to heal the world? Maybe. Will she consume a ton of vegan food in 2017? There is no doubt! I’m curious if she will move to America since Lauri will soon be drafted into the NBA.

She worked as a marketing rep for an auto insurance company. That doesn’t sound like a fun job because it involves a lot of complaints! She loves to travel, and she went to Las Vegas, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Cabo. Charmaine struck me as someone with a good sense of humor too.

We wondered out loud back in late 2016: is Jimmy Butler’s girlfriend Shay Mitchell? TMZ broke the story after they spotted them at lunch together. They even walked away from each other when the cameras showed up. Shay is very popular on the internet, and she starred in the show Pretty Little Liars. She has over 17,000,000 followers on social media. Her social media reminds me of a ritzy lifestyle blog. She’s beautiful and travels all over the world because that’s what tv stars do! No wonder Jimmy likes eating lunch with her since she’s such a big deal.

05-12-2011: According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPNLosAngeles.com, who caught up with Pau Gasol after his exit interview, all of the rumors about Pau Gasol breaking up with his girlfriend Silvia Lopez-Castro are false. She spoke with Pau, who told her that he and his girlfriend “are fine, we’re happy, we’re doing well”. In addition, Pau Gasol said that he are fine as well, shooting down the rumors that Kobe Bryant’s wife, Vanessa Bryant, had anything to do with any troubles between Gasol and his fiance. Pau did however, seem to verify that he and Lopez Castro were having some slight troubles when he said that she “was suffering because she saw me suffering. And I was suffering because I was seeing her suffering”. As Fat Bastard once said, it’s a vicious cycle. You eat because you’re unhappy and you’re unhappy because you eat. Pau, we think there’s someone you should get in touch with and forgive: yourself.

05-06-2011: There are rumors flying around that Pau and his fiance are calling it quits and that Kobe Bryant’s wife had a part in it, at least according to Gasol. Andrew Bynum started the gossip mill churning with the infamous, “trust issues,” comment to reporters after their game 2 loss to the Mavericks. Following their sweep to Dallas, Gasol indicated off the court issues, stating “I have to learn from this. I have to learn that when something happens off the court, you have to keep it off the court.”
Earlier this week, Kobe brushed off reports of in-the-stands-wife-fighting with a terse statement; “They barely know each other.”
Hopefully if Pau is dealt to Orlando this summer, the real story will come out. Until then,… the rumors will have to suffice.

Pau Gasol’s girlfriend Sylvia Lopez Castro met while she was working as a Cheerleader at Poland’s Eurobasket tournament, where Pau’s team and homecountry Spain won the gold medal in 2009. The two now live together in Manhattan Beach. There are whispers that the two are engaged, though at this time, unconfirmed.

Sylvia works as a cheerleader for Dream Cheers, who are a traveling cheerleading squad. They frequently perform at halftime of various professional European basketball games, including at those of FC Barcelona, Pau’s former team.

Michael Jordan’s wife Yvette Prieto gave birth to the GOAT’s fourth and fifth kids in February, 2014.  After having three older kids with his first wife, Yvette gave birth to Ysabel and Victoria Jordan to round out the Jordan starting 5.  In one of those “this is gonna make you feel old,” moments, MJ became a grandfather in 2019.  His elder daughter, Jasmine, had a son with Rakeen Christmas (a professional basketball player in Turkey).  Kid has pretty sick lineage!

UPDATE: 04/29/2013:

While we still don’t know if the prior update rumor was true, we do know now that Yvette Prieto is Michael Jordan’s wife. The couple married in a small ceremony over the weekend in front of 300 guests. The reception took place at a golf course near where Jordan lives and had entertainment by Usher and, well honestly, after Usher, who cares who else was there.

Rumors are flying that Michael Jordan’s girlfriend is about to become Michael Jordan’s wife.  The buzz suggests that MJ proposed to Yvette recently on a vacation in Monaco. Stories online suggest Michael Jordan’s girlfriend Yvette brought home a ring valued at 7 figures… Stay tuned for more details.

Michael Jordan began dating Yvette Prieto in July, 2008. Prieto is a 31 year old Cuban American model, who previously dated Julio Iglesias Jr. We should also note, that despite internet rumors, they did not get married in December, 2008, and were not expecting a child in February, 2009. As of April, 2013, the couple has filed for a marriage license and the expectation is that they will be married any day.

Late 2008, Jordan and Prieto bought a 5,500 square foot home in suburban Miami. They took out a 30 year mortgage worth $196,000. It’s believed that they took out this mortgage as a way to rebuild Prieto’s credit after she filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2002.
SIDE NOTE RANT: You want to know why everyone hates bloggers? It’s because of guys like Kevin Allen at the Chicago Sun Times. Allen, who I’m sure is a guy that would dispute the fact that he’s nothing more than a blogger, not only posted the address of their new house, but a friggin google map to the place. We’ve been accused of crossing the boundaries of newsworthiness to intrusiveness, but that is a whole new level of invasion. Even we think that’s messed up.
